I’m not a social media influencer, nor am I a tech billionaire. I don’t consider myself smart, or influential on a broad scale. Furthermore, I like keeping a low profile, but my level of success stems from a few things I do. I believe that if you focus on these, and not even all at once, that you can engineer your personal success as to what you define it.

Absolute clarity

You need to know where you are going and why. After you know that, you need to create your own specific plan of action. Being ambitious and having amazing intentions is nothing more than failure, without understanding where you are walking. Slow down, then speed up once you have that north star you want to follow.

Confidence

Confidence is a game-changer. I don’t mean being cocky, whether professionally or personally. And I have met my handful of people who go way beyond confidence to a point you just want to B* smack them, but learning how to portray confidence as a subject-matter expert will go a long way in engineering success.

Inner Drive

After clarity and confidence comes inner drive, motivation, ambition, and energy. Motivation is a roller coaster ride, and how to maintain that fire is something I discuss in my free PDF on Habits. I’ve gone through it, still do at times, where I am all fired up, but stressed and directionless until I clarify the purpose and the habits to establish a continuous inner drive.

Circle of influence

You often hear that you are the average of the people you spend the most time with, and to a certain extent, this is true. Hang around with five unhappy people, and you’ll be the sixth. Hang out with five motivated, driven people, and you’ll be the sixth. Your environment creates you.

Focus on growth and learning

I truly believe that the “learn it alls” will dominate in this new economy vs. the “know it alls” Cut the noise, get focused, and build your mastery skills in the niches you are passionate about. By continuous learning and growing and honing your skillset, you’ll never stop expanding what you are and what you can do.

Habits

In the end, create habits and turn them into rituals. Doing the right things daily will ensure you remain in a peak state of mind to drive results in life, business, relationships forward. Progress is key.

In a nutshell, these six areas are things that enable me as a person to do what I want to do, regardless of everything else. Start working on them and implement them into your life journey. You’ll see, it will make a difference.
